over China’s first ever participation in the world of the America’s Cup.

Here is the statement of China team's Syndicate Head Chaoyong Wang:

We have wanted to bring sailing to the people of China for a long time, and this joint venture with LE DEFI has made the dream a reality.

CHINA TEAM sails for the Qingdao International Yacht Club under the auspices of the Chinese Yachting Association, and will be associated to the French Yacht Club UNCL (Union Nationale pour la Course au Large).

We are extremely proud of our involvement in the 32nd America’s Cup, which presents us with the opportunity to front up against the best sailing teams in the world. We are collaborating closely with LE DEFI to bring together our best Chinese and French talent to effect a knowledge and skills transfer which will provide the core of a competitive, international campaign.

This European event is accompanied by intense media coverage, which means that CHINA TEAM can offer fantastic sponsorship opportunities and exposure, with a media audience of 350 million households in China alone.

CHINA TEAM is the embodiment of ‘east meets west’, and will become a unique interface between western and Chinese worlds. We are honoured and excited to be here, and look forward to some fantastic entertainment for our supporters!
