When the Commodore of the Qingdao International Yacht Club, Yong Quan Dong, was visiting the city of Malmo, Sweden, to meet with the China Team during the Americas Cup, he was invited to a dinner in the City Hall together with General Office Director Zhu Yuetao from the Sailing Committee (Qingdao) of Beijing Organizing Committee for The Games of the XXIX Olympiad.

At the dinner he told the City Commissioner Kent Andersson that he was sure that the “2008 Olympic Sailing Regatta in Qingdao would be a memorable success! We are very prod of our sailing facilities and Qingdao International Yacht Club is a guarantee that all facilities will be in a first class condition.”
